Wine
& Cheese Party
Date: April
21, 2013
Time:
5:00pm
Location:
QDNYC
Fee: $15.00
per boat
Details: This
is a pot luck, BYOB event at QDNYC (Quonset Davisville Navy Yacht Club on
81 Wescott Rd in North Kingstown, just before Allen Harbor). Our
guest speaker is Richard Fernie from the Wickford Yacth Club. Come hear about
his incredible journey sailing around Cape Horn. He was aboard a chartered
54-foot cutter Pelagic that made its way around the Horn and along the Beagle
Channel. Along with his friend John Rice and former Whitbread Racer Skip Novak,
they were searching for the correct location where John Rice’s great-grandfather
had scuttled his ship, the barque River Boyne, in
1875. Don’t miss this fascinating story. And, by the way, Richard
sails a Catalina 380 named Swallow so he must be a great guy!
I look foward
to seeing you this weeked!
